Meet Erin.

Meet your new teacher Erin

From my home studio in the Puyallup valley, I teach piano to students of all ages, from beginners through early advanced players, both in person and online.

I’m passionate about helping you become a lifelong music learner by giving you the tools you need to create great sound. By design, we are creative beings. As you play and improve, you’re motivated to continue. You’ll release perfectionism and learn to enjoy the process of growth.

I’ve taught for 30 years in classroom, choral, and private studio settings. I’m a collaborative artist who regularly works with school choirs in the Puyallup, Bethel, Tacoma and Steilacoom districts, as well as in the orchestra pit for my local theatre. I sing alto in Symphony Tacoma Voices.

When you study with me, I’ll help you learn piano both by rote (ear) and reading; technique and theory; classical and chording/improvising.

Remembering Misha.

Misha Cat was my studio cat for 10 years. She was sassy and sweet, old and opinionated. She loved to sit on the piano bench and listen to the music. When she got too old to jump up to the bench, she’d warm up any book bags left on the floor near the piano bench. She liked head scratches and butt pats, but woe to anyone who touched her belly. She left me in August, 2026 at the age of 19. I really miss her.

The teacher’s job is to find it
and nurture it.”
